We are Shkendije ministries, 'Shkendije' is the Albanian word for spark. All it takes is a spark to ignite a fire in a young person's life.
We are evangelistic in our emphasis, seeking to reach and teach Albanian children and to help others do the same.
Outreach events, training nationals and providing resources are our main functions.
Spark Ministries, a non-denominational Christian based organization, was founded by our director, Rachel Wilson in the year 2000. Rachel Wilson is an associate missionary with Assemblies of God UK.
“During my very first visit to the northern region of Albania in 1993 with LightForce International, the country captured my heart. I realised the needs of this nation were immense.
After four years of serving in humanitarian aid, children’s ministry and church planting, my role was coming to an end as Albanian people were taking on the work for themselves. Faced with the decision of where and what next, England, U.S., Albania or another country; I strongly felt there was something else for me to do in Albania. In searching through my experiences, knowledge of the culture and situation, I believe input in to Albanian children’s lives is the most effective way to bring long term change to this nation that so needs hope. Albania’s children of today are the Albania of tomorrow. A few years later in the year 2000, ‘Shkendije’ was launched.”

To Proclaim Jesus and His morals relevantly to Albanian Children, seeing them come to know & grow in God and help others to do the same.
Our three main objectives:
- Pioneer children’s evangelistic works, which in effect will affect Albanian families so to see the nucleus for church plant.
- Prepare and release Albanian nationals into children’s ministry.
- Produce materials to resource & equip the Albanian Church for children’s ministry.

Our statement of Faith is as follows:
We believe that the Bible (i.e. the Old and New Testaments excluding the Apocrypha), is the inspired Word of God, the infallible, all sufficient rule for faith and practice.
We believe in the unity of the One True and Living God who is the Eternal, Self-Existent “I AM”, Who has also revealed Himself as One being co-existing in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
We believe in the Virgin Birth, Sinless Life, Miraculous Ministry, Substitutionary Atoning Death, Bodily Resurrection, Triumphant Ascension and Abiding Intercession of the Lord Jesus Christ and in His personal, visible, bodily return in power and glory as the blessed hope of all believers
We believe in the fall of man, who was created pure and upright, but fell by voluntary transgression.
We believe in salvation through faith in Christ, who, according to the Scriptures, died for our sins, was buried and was raised from the dead on the third day, and that through His Blood we have Redemption.
This experience is also known as the new birth, and is an instantaneous and complete operation of the Holy Spirit upon initial faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that all who have truly repented and believed in Christ as Lord and Saviour are commanded to be baptised by immersion in water.
We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit as an enduement of the believer with power for service.
We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, in an orderly manner as evidenced in the Scriptures and the gifts of Christ in the Church today.
We believe in holiness of life and conduct in obedience to the command of God.
We believe that deliverance from sickness is provided by Divine healing.
We believe that all who have truly repented and believe in Christ as Lord and Saviour should regularly participate in the Breaking of Bread.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the everlasting conscious bliss of all who truly believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and the everlasting conscious punishment of all whose names are not written in the Book of Life.
