'Camp Restoration'

A video of our last camp using LFI's Activity Centre.

Over the years, Spark Ministries has used the ‘LightForce Activity Centre’ many times to host summer camps. It was also where Rachel was first introduced to camp ministry in the late 1990s, serving as a LightForce volunteer. We are incredibly grateful that LightForce UK is donating the camp and conference centre to Shkëndijë, Spark Ministries.

For many years, it has been our vision to have a centre of our own — not only to grow our camp ministry, but also to develop a sustainable social enterprise that will support the ministry long-term. We truly see this opportunity as an answer to prayer.

However, this gift comes with some challenges. The centre has not been in use since before Covid, and our last camp there took place in 2019 (featured in the video). As a result, the site is in need of reasonable investment for restoration and lots of TLC to ensure camps, conferences and many smiling faces can return this year.

Our 2026 restoration aims and needs:

The Team Bungalow (inside and out)
The Main Villa: second floor (sleeping space for 42) and third floor (main meeting hall). (inside and out)
The Playground
Small group meeting areas
A general clean-up of the entire site

In total, approximately 650 m² of wall mass, both inside and out, requires scraping, filling, sanding and painting. Additional work includes fitting lights, repairing beds, restoring the playground and completing a thorough clean-up of the site.

The estimated cost is £22 / $30 per m², bringing the total restoration cost to approximately £14,300 / $19,500.

Costs:

£170 /$235 Per Person Food and Accommodation for 7 days. Plus group* costs totaling £60 /$85. Total of all in-country costs £230/$320* (*based of a team of 8 people)
