The 2024 Tirana Marathon, held on Sunday, October 20th, was a remarkable event that brought together participants from around the world. This major sporting occasion in Albania featured multiple race distances, including the full marathon, half marathon, and 10 km, offering a fantastic opportunity for runners to challenge themselves while supporting a meaningful cause.
For Spark Ministries, the marathon held special significance as we dedicated this year’s efforts to raising funds for our children’s mission in Albania—specifically, the repair of our outreach van. Two passionate runners, Emma Brandon and Tim Miles, took on the full marathon with a clear goal: to complete the race and raise vital funds for the project. Despite the physical demands, both successfully crossed the finish line, demonstrating not only determination but also the power of community and generosity.
Thanks to their dedication and the incredible support of donors, a total of £964.73 was raised, significantly contributing to the restoration of the van’s external panels. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Tim, Emma, our enthusiastic cheerers, and everyone who contributed. A special thank you goes to New Life Community Church, whose special missions event on race day helped raise over half of the total funds.
