Summer Camp/Mission
‘Summer Camp 2024’ will be running Monday 12th – Friday 16th August. This will be a day camp in Shengjin, a costal town, for approximately 70, 6 – 12 year olds from mostly ‘unchurched’ backgrounds. Its focus will be outreach and life skills, with all the usual excitement and fun activities. This year’s camp setting allows for the opportunity of other low key beach mission activities each day, along with some R&R beach time.
What to expect
By joining us this summer you will have the opportunity to serve the children of Albania. You will be part of a hard-working and dedicated team of people who want to see these children enjoy exciting, fun-filled weeks full of adventure, bible studies and having a great time with each other and God. Our aim is to match your gifts and experience with the needs of the camp so that we all get the most out of time. Tasks will range from helping in the kitchen to leading the various activities, from swimming and sports to arts and crafts etc., there will be a broad range of possibilities for you to be involved with. You will become tanned and tired! But we know you will be greatly rewarded by seeing the results and the joy you will bring to the children.
Included is a fun cultural half-day excursion in the capital city, Tirana, the Saturday after camp, to experience even more of our amazing country. And this year we are offering an optional extra 2-day bolt-on trip to the beautiful Albanian coast, for sun, sand, surf and lots of fun.
Dates
You would need to arrive in Albania on Saturday 10th August, as Sunday is the camp set up and orientation day, and depart from the evening of Saturday 17th August to the following afternoon, flights depending. (Optional Bolt-on is an extended 2 days departing Monday evening)
Costs
The food and accommodation for the week of camp, including in-county transport will be approximately £350 / $400. Once all the arrangements are finalised we will be able to give you the exact price.
